About Us
Essential Medicals is a SEQOHS-accredited Occupational Health provider based in London, delivering high-quality driver and occupational medical assessments across the UK.
Due to rapid expansion, we are looking to recruit GMC-registered doctors (with Licence to Practise) to join our growing team.
This role is particularly well-suited to:
- International Medical Graduates (IMGs)
- Doctors who have completed PLAB
- Doctors seeking flexible, well-paid sessional work
Role Overview
You will conduct driver medical assessments, including:
- HGV (D4) medicals
- Taxi / PCO medicals
- Occupational medicals
Full training and templates will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Conduct structured medical assessments using provided templates
- Review medical history and medications
- Perform basic clinical examinations (BP, vision, general assessment)
- Complete clear and accurate medical reports
- Maintain professional and patient-centred care
Requirements
- GMC Registration with Licence to Practise (Essential)
- PLAB-qualified doctors welcome
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Professional indemnity (can be arranged if required)
- Ability to work independently
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience in Occupational Health or GP settings
- Experience in driver medicals (D4/Taxi)
- Familiarity with UK clinical systems

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance, Zero hours contract
Pay: £45.00-£55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3.0 – 10.0 per week
